Peter's Story

Shy at first, but will come to you once he knows he can trust you. It only took about 2 hours for him to open up to his foster dad. Now he follows him  around the house.

He is gentle with people and other dogs and hasn't shown any aggressive behavior. He loves walks and is curious about everything so the walk is very stop and go while he explores. Okay on leash-could use some training to heel as he tends to pull on the leash.

He hasn't shown a strong tendency to dig or try to escape, but if there is an opening he will take it and run. After a walk he'll be content to curl up and take a nap at your feet. When he has energy and wants to play you'll know it as he will jump around you and turn over on his back for belly rubs.

He's a good eater and will eat what you place in front of him until he's full. Hasn't shown a tendency to overeat. Doesn't seem to be big on food treats, he would rather you pet and play with him for affection. He is house trained, but might have a few accidents while he's getting used to the new environment and routine. It only took a couple days for him to learn to use the doggy door to go outside by himself or wait until we go on a walk. Overall he would be a great, loyal companion.
